Food for thought: Melchizedek came on the scene long before Judaism, the Levitical priesthood or Christianity was established; he also appeared long before the law was given to Moses. Also, he doesn't seem to appear to any other person or in any other place in the Bible. Melchizedek didn’t have to offer up a sacrifice for himself daily, He did this once (Hebrews 7:27); Levitical priests had to be cleansed first before entering the holy of holies. Hmm? Sounds like Christ’s sacrifice. The words “king of Salem” only occur in three verses of the KJV Bible; in Hebrews 7:2 the letters “K” are all upper case. Are these clues to his identity? I don’t think it could be any clearer, Jesus said Abraham tithed to Him, Hebrews 7:2. Jesus said Abraham was glad to see Him in John 8:56; it is very clear to me. Remember, God/Jesus cannot lie. | |
