Watchmen!

Watchmen!

Watchmen do what? Watch: be vigilant, on guard, fully awake, not asleep while on watch, aware, alert, intently focused. To do what? Warn of impending danger, especially in the form of temptation, deceit, lies, false teachings and doctrines, etc. This is a KJV Bible study guide.

Jesus commands us (all) to watch, not just some: Mark 13:37; (Did you know that? I'd be willing to bet many didn't. No excuse now; those who read this have been made aware).

Spiritual watchmen (God's employees): help all of us to understand what sin is; warn us of the consequences of unrepented sin; warn us of deception and its effect; warn us of temptation (When coupled with earnest prayer, a warning can give us strength to resist those temptations. Will we be able to resist all temptation? Perhaps not, we're just human. That's what repentance is for).

Watchmen tell others who is behind that temptation: the tempter is the devil/Satan; see Matthew 4:3 and 1 Thessalonians 3:5.

Spiritual watchmen use what and see what? [They use their spiritual eyes, not flesh eyes to see His truths]: to see what God wants them to see in order to serve Him, spiritual truths; to see eternal things, not temporary things; some watchmen may be able to see and understand part of God's plan; to see the enemies devices and warn others; (Spiritual truths are hidden from those who think they are wise, but, revealed to babes. Something to think about).

Watchmen are individually responsible to God only, their employer.

What happens to those watchmen that don't warn others? (Jeremiah 6:17-19 and Ezekiel 33:6-8 tell us. Many ask, why is there so much evil in the world? You just read why in Jeremiah 6:17-19).

What happens to those that heed the warnings of the watchmen? (Ezekiel 33:5 tells you). What happens to those that don't heed the warning? (Ezekiel 33:4-5 tells you). Might be a good choice to heed the warning don't you think?

See Matthew 24:4-5, 11, 23-25, 42-44;
See Mark 13:5-6, 21-23, 42-44;
See Luke 12:37-40, 21:8, 36;

“Take heed” means to pay attention to what I am about to say, obey Me: by paying attention, by warning others, watching. To mind, to regard with care, to take notice of, to attend to, to observe. Are you gonna just take off running when you see danger or are you gonna warn others as well? Jesus is telling us to not be selfish and self-centered. He is telling us to think of others and be compassionate and warn them. Continue to study God’s word completely. Learn His will for you.
